-novid

Don't display the launchscreen video lasting a couple of seconds.

-w 1920 -h 1080 -fullscreen

Launch the game at 1920x1080 in fullscreen. Useful for running the game at a non-native resolution to your monitor for performance.

+exec autoexec

Run the autoexec.cfg file at startup which contains custom game settings. More information about autoexec files.

Playing on GNOME, with a 4k monitor, scaled down to 1080p, while fractional scaling is enabled #

Last updated February 2021

... on Arch Linux. Sadly this combination of settings causes the mouse to be misaligned by +~100px on the x and y axis. There is a slight moment of hope when the game initially loads and the mouse works fine, until 5 seconds later the screen flashes black and the mouse alignment goes bad.

The only ray of hope I have for gaming with fractional scaling is that Minecraft works well.

My Kinda Solution

Before I launch CS:GO, I set scaling back to 100%, when I've finished playing I set it back to 150%. It's a cop out but it's the best I have since luckily hot swapping scaling modes doesn't cause any issues.
